We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our state-of-the-art Cardiac ITU Unit at The Wellington Hospital the UK’s largest private hospital and currently rated “Good” by the CQC. Not only is The Wellington Hospital the largest private hospital in the UK, but we’re also home to the UK’s largest private critical care unit – fully equipped with the latest technology to provide specialist care to level 2 and 3 patients
As a Senior Staff Nurse in the ITU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients. You will also have the opportunity to step up as a deputy to the Sister/Charge Nurse, helping to manage the unit when needed.
This role not only allows you to practice what you love—caring for critically ill patients—but also gives you room to grow, develop specialist skills, and take on leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a deputy to the Sister/Charge Nurse, providing leadership and support to the nursing team.
Deliver care to a high standard, often with a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio.
Manage a complex caseload in a multidisciplinary team.
Administer medication, manage ventilation equipment, and monitor life-support systems.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
Provide emotional and professional support to patients and their families.

What we need from you?
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with valid NMC registration.
Extensive experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU/ITU) setting, ideally with experience in Cardiac ITU or General ITU care.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to manage a team in the absence of senior staff.
Completed 60 credits Adult Critical Care/Intensive Care Course
