Paediatric Day Surgery Staff Nurse  
Location : The Portland Hospital for Women & Children, London  
Hours: Permanent 37.5pw ( Mon Sat flexibility to work 7am-10pm)

We’re looking for a Paediatric Band 5 Staff Nurse to join oyr Day Surgery team at The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.
  
The applicant must have an interest in paediatric day surgery and have good communication skills. You will need to be flexible and able to contribute to the delivery of high standard family-centred care. We will provide support and encouragement to enable you to develop and achieve your full potential.  
  
Our unit consists of a small friendly team. We work closely together to ensure the patient and their families experience is of a high-standard throughout day surgery. We currently offer a variety of surgical procedures for children and young people, Monday to Saturday, excluding bank holidays. All shifts are 11.5 hours and you will be required to work a mixture of early and late shifts.  

Early 07:00am – 19:45pm  
Late  09:15am – 22:00pm

Our Paediatric wards hold 53 inpatient beds, including 11 daycase beds and are equipped with the latest technology to provide advanced medical and surgical care. The 14 bedPaediatric Intensive Care Unit reflects the acuity and complex nature of the children who are admitted to our hospital. 
  
Skills & Experience:  
NMC Child Registered Nurse with basic paediatric life support.  

Understanding of Safeguarding issues and clinical governance.  

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Ability to work within a team and independently.  

Previous experience of Surgical, theatre or recovery nursing desirable
