Main Duties/Responsibilities
As a Carer, your duties could include:

  • Personal Care: Assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Meal Assistance: Helping with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals.
  • Medication Management: Administering medications as prescribed and keeping accurate records.
  • Mobility Support: Assisting residents with mobility, including using wheelchairs, walkers, or transferring from bed to chair.
  • Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Companionship: Providing emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging in conversations and activities.
  • Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in residents health or behaviour to senior staff
  • Supervision: Overseeing the work of carers, ensuring that care plans are followed correctly.
  • Advanced Care: Providing more complex care tasks, such as wound care or catheter management.
  • Communication: Acting as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle emergencies and providing first aid if necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents conditions

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications
Essential

  • You will need to pass an enhanced background check.
  • Relevant references that cover the last two years.
