An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, ambitious and influential professional leader to join The Lister Hospital as Deputy Chief Nursing Officer (DCNO).

As the DCNO, you will report into the Chief Nursing Officer and provide highly visible clinical leadership for The Lister Hospital as well as our numerous outpatient centres supporting the delivery of our services including orthopaedics and spinal care, urology, cardiac care, digestive health, cancer care, and of course, the largest private fertility and reproductive centre in the UK.

What do we need from you?
As Deputy Chief Nurse, you will showcase a track record of success and experience in a number of key areas. You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Nursing Officer to deliver improvements in quality and safety and will ensure that patient experience is at the heart of everything we do.
Building strong relationships with our Consultant community is critical to our success and the successful candidate will be a key part of continuing to build the exceptional reputation of the Lister Hospital. You will promote excellence in clinical care and professional standards across the Trust.
You will lead a large multidisciplinary team. As one of the most senior members of the hospital you will lead by example in training and developing your team, supporting and advising managers and supervisors on people related matters, and developing and implementing engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies.
What you’ll bring
Nursing Qualification – RN or RN(Child) with valid NMC registration
10 years post registration experience in nursing; at least 5 years experience as a Matron / Head of Nursing / Deputy Chief Nurse or equivalent level
First degree in nursing or health related subject
Mentorship or equivalent qualification
Experience of audit and research relevant to specialism
Experience of safeguarding processes, with level 3 /4 Safeguarding training.
Experience of clinical governance and managing risk essential
