Admiral Nurse

We're looking for an experienced Admiral Nurse to join our Care and Quality team at Signature to influence, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within the care home setting.  The successful applicant will be an NMC registered (adult/mental health/learning disability) nurse with experience of working with people with dementia and supporting their carers within a care home setting.  A full driving licence is essential as it is a requirement to travel across our home portfolio as part of this role.

Your Role at Signature

As the Admiral Nurse, you will support the Dementia Care Managers in the operational delivery of the My life strategy raising awareness with a high visible presence in the clinical areas and provide practical solutions for families, alongside supporting best practice and providing role modelling within the homes.

You will provide specialist nursing assessment, evidenced based intervention, practical advice and emotional support for family members of people with dementia, care staff and where appropriate people with dementia themselves, at all stages including bereavement.

You will assist with the development, evaluation and audit of this specialist area of practice and provide education for care home staff and families living with dementia, developing skills and competencies of the staff team in delivering best practice dementia care.

You will have the opportunity to access relevant courses and develop professionally, as informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care.

As well as an active NMC registration, post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and coaching and mentoring experience is essential.
